Land Survey
GM2 Associates, Inc. provides state-of-the-art land surveying expertise
throughout Connecticut. GM2's staff features four licensed
land surveyors in the state of Connecticut and three full-time crews. The
Director of Land Surveys, Robert Sterling, has more than 30 years of
experience in all aspects of boundary, topographic, construction layout,
and route survey for state agencies, municipalities, private developers,
and residential customers. The office staff is adept in the use of AutoCad,
Land Desk, and Microstation. At their disposal are GPS and robotic systems,
as well as conventional and Total Stations.
Recent Examples of Work Include:
Interstate I-91 – New Haven, CT
Provided route survey to cover median and lane striping southbound and
northbound between Ives Street and Exit 3 in New Haven. Approximately
6000 feet of route survey, including topographic survey of areas to be
widened, drainage structures for proposed drainage trunk-line, and boundary
maps. To avoid delays with traffic, we utilized our sub-centimeter GPS
system with RTK.
Interstate I-95 – Norwalk, CT
Provided route survey to cover outside shoulders and drainage structures
between Fairfield Avenue and Penn Railroad, plus additional route survey
along Route 1 in Norwalk. Approximately 7000 feet of survey (includes
northbound and southbound) along I-95 and Route 1.
Perry Avenue Bridge Replacement – Norwalk, CT
Provided detailed route survey along Perry Avenue and at the intersection
of Route 1 with Perry Avenue. Detailed existing bridge survey, topographic
survey, hydraulic cross sections, utilities, and ROW. Approximately 2000
feet.
James Street Bridge Replacement – Norwalk, CT
Provided detailed route survey along James Street. Detailed existing bridge
survey, topographic survey, easement map, hydraulic cross sections, utilities,
and ROW. Approximately 2000 feet.
Deep River Streetscape Improvements – Deep River, CT
Provided approximately 1300 feet of route survey along Main Street, from
the intersection of Elm Street heading north. Mapping utilities, existing
building faces, topographic survey, and boundary lines.
Aquarion Water Co. of Connecticut – Simsbury, CT
Prepared boundary and topographic surveys and mapping of four well site locations
to be used in DEP compliance requirements. Approximately 15 acres of area.
Cheshire, CT
50-acre, 32-lot subdivision with 5000 feet of new road. Prepared boundary, topographic
and subdivision survey and mapping.
Town of Watertown – Watertown, CT
Prepared survey and base mapping of more than 2 miles through various streets
and private property from Straits Turnpike to Echo Lake Road for tie-in
water main project. Also prepared as-built surveys and maps.
